Day 1: Arrival
in Kampala.
One of our company representatives
will pick you from the Airport and transfer you
to your place of accommodation.

Day
2: Transfer to Kasese.
After an
early morning breakfast, transfer to Kasese via
Fort portal. The drive will take you through tea
plantations and beautiful landscapes. Have a Lunch
stop in fort portal and continue to Kasese.

Day 3: Nyakalengija office (1,615m) to Nyabitaba
Hut (2,651m).
After an early morning breakfast,
transfer from Hotel Magherita to Rwenzori Mountains
National Park head office at Nyakalengija. Register
and get briefing from the Ranger and start your
climb into the mountains before 11 am. The total
hiking time is 5-7 hours. The hike takes you along
the Mubuku River and through thick equatorial
vegetation before arriving at the Nyabitaba hut
(2650 meters). You might hear chimpanzees or see
blue monkeys.
Dinner and overnight in Nyabitaba hut. Elevation
gained, 1200 meters.
NB: on this
day, the car drives back to Kampala.
Day
4: Nyabitaba Hut (2,652m) to John Matte Hut (3,415m).
After early
breakfast you leave Nyabitaba hut for a 7 hour
hike to john Matte Hut. Today might be the most
tiring and difficult day in the circuit. Go through
the Kurt Sharfer Bridge to marvel at the sparkling
Mubuku river confluence. In the afternoon you
will reach the Nyamuleju hut have lunch and you
might enjoy a nice view at Mount Stanley and Speke.
Climb through the open patches, lobelia, and heath
moss forest when proceeding up to the
John Matte overnight. Elevation gained, 915 meters.
Day
5: John Matte Hut (3,415m) to Bujuku Hut 3960m).
Depart early through the giant
Lobelias and heath trees for a 3_ 5hours hike
through muddy Bigo Bog plains and scenic landscape
of lobelias and giant groundsels. You will pass
Lake Bujuku, majestically settled between the
famous mountains Baker, Stanley and Speke. Continue
to a rock shelter called Cooking Pot and soon
you will arrive at your final stop for today.
Dinner and overnight at Bujuku Hut.Elevation gained,
560 meters
.
Day 6: Bujuku Hut (3960m) to Elena Hut
(4430m).
Head off
from the valley for a 3_5 hour hike through scenic
alpine vegetation consisting Giant Groundsels
and Lobelia and continue to ascend Mount Victoria
and Mount Speke at 4890 meters. Depart through
the lovely views of the Savoia and Elena glaciers,
scale further through to the Scott Elliott pass
and proceed through the snow to the Elena Hut
for overnight.
The Elena Hut will be your base for the final
conquer of the Rwenzori Mountains.
Day7
: Elena Hut (4430 m) to Kitandara Hut (4020m).
Day to finally ascent the highest
peak in the famous Mountains of the moon, MARGHERITA!
Early morning 3-5 hour hike to the snowy Alexander
peak (5092 meters) and then onwards to the highest
peak at 5109 meters, the famous Margherita! Thereafter
we directly descend to the beautiful lake Kitandara
for
overnight stay at Kitandara hut (4020 meters).
Day
8: Kitandara Hut (4020m) to Guy Yeoman Hut.(3260m).
After early breakfast a long descent begins. First
we climb from Lake Kitandara to the Fresh field
Pass from where you can look into the neighboring
country Congo. We will have a picnic lunch on
the way and continue our journey while descending
to the Guy Yeoman hut for dinner and overnight.
The total hiking time is 5-7 hours.
Elevation gained, 300 meters.
Day
9: Guy yeoman Hut (3260m) to Nyabitaba Hut (2650m)
the last part of the hike!
Drop very steeply along the Mubuku
River and join the original route near the Bujuku
River.
Dinner and overnight at Nyabitaba Hut (2650 meters).The
total Hiking time is 5-7 hours.
NB: On this day the car will drive back from Kampala
to Kasese.
Day10: Nyakalengija, Kasese and Queen Elizabeth
National Park.
Early morning descend to Nyakalengija
which will take approximately 2-3 hours. Then
we proceed to Hotel Margherita. Here you can relax
and reflect your climb of the highest peak in
Uganda.

Day
11: Kampala-Departure
Transfer to Kampala you with a
lunch stop in Mbarara town.
You can stop
at some interesting places like the equator; you
can take some photographs or buy some souvenirs
from one of our craft shops, Classic African Art
Kayabwe.
Arrive in Kamapala in the evening.
