a full day with fishermen; go fishing with them

with traders, visit an orphanage/school interact

Tips for Responsible Travel
• Read
about the communities to be visited if there is
any literature about them, if there are no literatures
written about them then make inquiries about them
from your travel agent.
• With the help of your travel agent try
to understand the local community’s needs
and it is always nice to bring a gift for your
hosts.
• Avoid instances of cultural shock and
cultural arrogance, it is important to understand
that the local people you visit have different
time concepts and thought patterns from yours;
this makes them different not inferior.
• Respect local cultures; it will help you
get a deeper experience and better understanding
of the people you visit.
Asking questions about what is peculiar to you
will help you to understand the local people better
as well as help
• you in seeing a different way of life
through the locals’ eyes.
• We do encourage you to socialise with
people, it is however important to ask for permission
before taking photographs and a walk around.
• Never buy products made from endangered
species of either plants or animals so as to stop
this kind of trade
